Eat This After Every Meal And Lose Weight

Can eating just 1/2 a grapefruit after each meal make you lose weight?

Warning: Grapefruit is powerful enough to interact with certain drugs, so if you are taking any pharmaceutical medications, it is very important to talk to your doctor or naturopath if you plan to eat grapefruit on a daily basis.

In a recent study from 2012 (1), researchers set out to test if eating a 1/2 a grapefruit after every meal for weeks would help with weight loss.

They had a group of people (74 to be exact) split into two, where one group ate just 1/2 a pink grapefruit after each meal (3 meals a day). So in total, they ate 1 1/2 grapefruits each day for 6 weeks.

While doing this they were tested for:

* weight loss,

* blood pressure control,

* lipid profile in the blood (ie. good and bad fat in the blood).

So, here are the results:

People who at 1/2 a grapefruit after each meal (3/day) for 6 weeks:

*lost weight of about (about 0.5 - 3kg),

* lose waist size of (about 3 cm),

* decreased blood pressure significantly,

* improvement total and LDL (bad) cholesterol.

Conclusions: Grapefruit is a very healthy food to consume daily, and can indeed help with weight maintenance/inch loss and cardiovascular health among other health benefits of this fruit being so high in Vitamins and minerals.
