Baked Cauliflower Recipe

This baked cauliflower recipe is made with a bit of cheese and a bit of spice.

Ingredients

1 large head cauliflower
2 Tablespoons butter
6 Tablespoons all purpose flour
1/8 teaspoon red pepper flakes
2 cups milk
2 cups mozzarella cheese, grated
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. lightly grease a 9x13 inch baking dish.

Cut cauliflower into bite size pieces

Using a double boiler, steam cauliflower until just tender.

While it is steaming, melt the butter and add the red pepper flakes and garlic powder.

Stir in the flour.

Mix in the milk a bit at a time stirring each time until smooth.

Cook, stirring constantly, over a medium heat until thick and creamy.

Add 1 cup cheese cheese and stir until melted.

Remove sauce from heat and salt and pepper the sauce to taste.

Spread the cauliflower into the baking dish.

Pour the cheese sauce evenly over the cauliflower.

sprinkle with remaining 1 cup cheese.

Bake 5-7 minutes or until cheese is melted an bubbly.
