Banana Hazelnut Cake Recipe

This very nice banana hazelnut cake recipe is so tasty with the addition of the hazelnuts. There are many banana cakes and breads and if you like one more recipe to add to your box, this one is a tasty one.

Ingredients

1 1/4 cups whole wheat flour
1/2 cup ground hazelnuts
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 large eggs
1/3 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
2 overripe bananas, mashed
1/4 cup milk

Serves 6 - 8

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 dgrees F.

Grease an 8 inch square baking pan with oil.

Whisk together flour, ground hazelnuts, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

Beat together butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, beating after each addition. Add in sour cream, vanilla and bananas, beating until well incorporated. Mix in flour mixture and milk and until its just incorporated.

Pour batter into prepared pan and bake for 25 - 30 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean, set to cool. Serve.
