Basil Garlic Bread Recipe

This basil garlic bread is a wonderful blend of delicious flavors. This warm seasoned bread goes well with salads and pasta dishes.

Ingredients

2 Tablespoons butter, at room temperature
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1 cup loosely packed basil leaves
1/2 cup loosely packed parsley leaves
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 whole green onion, finely chopped
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 loaf ciabatta or french bread
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

Directions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F.

Cut a piece of aluminum foil larg enough to wrap around the loaf of bread.

Place the butter, oil, basil, parsley, cloves, onion salt and pepper in a blender and pulse to coarsley chop.

Slice the loaf of bread in half and divide the spread equally onto both the top and bottom sections of the loaf of bread.

Wrap the loaf in the prepared foil.

Place in the preheated oven and bake for 10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and open the foil. Open up the loaves and sprinkle on the parmesan cheese.

Turn the oven up to 500 degrees F.

Leaving the opened halves on the aluminum foil, place under the broiler.

Cook until the tops start to brown lightly.

Serve right away.
