Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Line an 8 inch square baking dish with parchment paper.
In a small sauce-pan over medium heat, melt butter.
Whisk sugar, cocoa, and salt in a medium bowl to combine. Pour butter into dry ingredients, whisking constantly to blend. Whisk in vanilla. and eggs, blending well. Add flour and stir until just combined.
Scrape batter into prepared pan; smooth top.
Bake 25-30 minutes.
Transfer pan to a wire rack; let cool completely in pan. lift brownie out of pan; transfer to a cutting board. Cut into squares.
To make the chocolate sauce, melt chocolate in a double boiler or hot but not boiling water, when chocolate is melted stir in cream.
To Serve top brownie with ice cream, whipped cream and a cherry, drizzle with warm chocolate sauce.
