Brownies With Cream Cheese Icing Recipe

These brownies with cream cheese icing can also be served as a simple basic brownie, and this simple icing can be used for all sorts of delicious desserts.

Ingredients

Makes (1) 9x9 inch pan

Brownie
1/2 cup vegetable oil
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 large eggs
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup all purpose flour

Cream Cheese Frosting
3/4 cup cream cheese, at room temperature
1/3 cup butter, at room temperature
3 cups confectioners’ sugar

Chocolate Drizzle
1 cup chocolate melting wafers, melted

Directions

Brownie

Preheat oven to 350F.

Grease a 9 x9 inch square pan with oil.

Place the oil and sugar into a mixing bowl and beat with an electric mixer until they are combined.

Mix in vanilla and eggs, one at a time.

In another bowl, whisk together the baking powder, cocoa powder, salt and flour and mix until well incorporated.

Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix in.

Pour the batter into prepared baking pan and bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out with a moist crumb.

Remove from the oven and set on a rack to cool.

Cream Cheese Frosting

Use an electric mixer to mix together the cream cheese, butter and sugar until light and fluffy.

Spread the cream cheese frosting over top of cooled brownies.

Chocolate Drizzle

To make the chocolate drizzle, put the melting wafers into a small saucepan on the stovetop and heat over low to melt.

Cut the brownie into pieces, drizzle each with chocolate and serve.
