Cheese Kebabs Recipe

This cheese kebab recipe is a tasty food to cook on a barbecue. They are a great appetizer, of if you make enough, they can be the main part of your meal. Serve with a fresh green salad.

Ingredients

Ingredient amounts will depend how many you want to make.

250 grams halloumi cheese
4 bacon strips
4 green onions
1/4 cup honey mixed with 1/8 cup soy sauce to baste

4 Bamboo skewers

Directions

Soak the bamboo skewers in water.

In a skillet on the stovetop, precook the bacon so that it is cooked to your liking but still soft enough to wrap around the cheese.

Remove the bacon from the frying pan to a plate lined with paper towels to absorb the grease. Let it cool down enough to handle it.

Cut the halloumi cheese into bite sized cubes.

Cut the green onion into 1 inch pieces.

Cut the bacon into sections that are long enough to wrap once around the chunk of cheese

Build your skewers by piercing on the bacon wrapped cheese and the green onions.

Use a basting brush to coat with the honey, soy sauce mixture.

Place the kebabs onto the heated barbecue and cook, turning and basting every few minutes until you see the cheese is getting browned and the bacon done to your liking.
