Chicken Steak With Mushroom Sauce Recipe

This chicken steak and mushroom gravy recipe allows you to bake your chicken breasts, then serve them with your own flavorful homemade mushroom gravy.

Ingredients

Mushroom Gravy

1 pound fresh mushrooms, sliced
1/2 onion, chopped fine
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1/2 cup flour
1/2 stick butter (1/4 cup)
4 cups chicken broth
2 teaspoons salt
1 teaspoon pepper

Chicken Steaks

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
2 lemons, juice of
3 tablespoon melted butter
1 teaspoon ground pepper
3 teaspoon seasoning salt

Directions

Mushroom Gravy

In a large sauce pan, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add in the mushrooms, garlic and onions and cook for about 10 minutes or until onions are softened and mushrooms have cooked down.

Gradually sit in the flour and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes.

Add in the broth and turn heat to medium-low. Simmer for 30 minutes or until thickened.

Chicken Steaks

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F

Place chicken in a glass baking tray.

Drizzle lemon juice on chicken breast and coat both sides. Let chicken sit for 5 minutes.

Brush melted butter on both sides of chicken.

Season with ground pepper and seasoning salt.

Bake for 35 minutes or until chicken is no longer pink, turning chicken breasts halfway.

Serve with mushroom gravy.
