Chocolate Chip Chocolate Muffins Recipe

This chocolate chip chocolate muffins recipe means that every bite is all about chocolate! Kids will like these muffins and there is not that much sugar in them.

Ingredients

2 cups all purpose flour
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1 teaspoons baking powder
1 Tablespoons baking soda
1 teaspoons salt
4 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
2 large eggs
1 3/4 cups milk
1/2 cup + 2 teaspoons grapeseed oil
1 1/2 cups semisweet chocolate chunks
3/4 cup chopped nuts (your choice: walnuts, peanuts,almonds), divided
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 Tablespoon vanilla

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Line with paper liners or grease 2 12-hole muffin pans.

In a large mixing bowl stir together the flours, cocoa, sugar, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

In a medium sized mixing bowl, using an electric mixer combine the milk, eggs and oil. Beat into the flour until the flour moist.

On slow speed, mix in the chocolate chunks and 1/2 cup of the nuts.

Divide the batter into the muffin tins, filling each one 3/4 of the way full. Sprinkle additional nuts on the top if desired.

Place into the preheated oven and bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.

Remove to cooling racks, let sit 5 minutes, then move each muffin out of the tin and onto the cooling rack.
