Creamy Shrimp Pasta Recipe

This creamy shrimp pasta recipe makes a tasty creamy sauce with precooked shrimp. It is very quick to prepare and has a mild flavor.

Ingredients

8 ounces pasta
1 cup chicken broth
1 onion, thinly sliced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon lemon thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1 cup milk
3 Tablespoons all purpose flour
1 lb. cooked shrimp, peeled and deveined
salt, to taste
parmesan cheese

Directions

Prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain.

To make the sauce, use a medium sized saucepan and pour in the chicken broth, onion, garlic,lemon thyme, salt and pepper. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

Pour the milk into 2 cup measuring cup, add the flour to the milk and stir together with a fork until smooth.

Pour the milk into the broth, whisking to combine. Reduce the heat and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes or until the mixture thickens and boils. Cook for one minute, stirring the full time.

Add the cooked shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes or until the shrimp is heated through, then shut off.

Transfer the pasta into a serving bowl and pour the creamy shrimp sauce over. Toss to combine and serve while hot with parmesan cheese if desired.
