This creme brulee recipe is a French classic and is easy to make at home with a few simple steps.
Pre-heat the oven to 350°F.
In large bowl, whisk together sugar and egg yolks.
Meanwhile, heat cream over medium heat until boiling.
Slowly pour the hot cream into the sugar/yolk mixture.
Stir in vanilla.
Pour the mixture into small ramekins, or other small oven proof dishes, until each is 2/3 full.
Place ramekins on a baking tray and bake for approximately 30-40 minutes, until mixture is just set.
Remove ramekins and let cool for 2 hours in the fridge.
Topping:
Sprinkle sugar over each ramekin before serving.
Place tray of ramekins under broiler for 5 minutes to caramelize (or use propane torch).
