Deep Fried Fish Recipe

Crispy deep fried fish, serve with fries and tartar sauce this meal is such a treat.

Ingredients

2 lbs cod fillets (Skinned & boned)
1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon paprika
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 teaspoon pepper
200 ml beer
1 egg
oil (for frying)

Directions

Pat fish fillets dry w/paper towels.

cut into pieces & set aside.

Into a large bowl, stir together the flour, salt, sugar, paprika, garlic powder and pepper.

Stir the egg and beer into the flour mixture until smooth.

Set batter aside for 30 minutes to rest.

Using a deep fryer or deep pot, Heat oil to approx 350 degrees f.

To coat fish, gently dip fish pieces into the batter.

Ease the battered fish into the hot oil.

Fry 2-3 pieces at a time for 5-6 minutes or till golden brown.

Use a slotted spoon to remove fish from oil and place on a paper towel to drain.

Serve hot.
