Double Chocolate Chunk Cookies Recipe

This chocolate chunk cookie recipe also has mini chocolate chips in it. Each bite holds a morsel of chocolate, to they are perfect for the cookie monster in your house that loves chocolate chip cookies!

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups butter, at room temperature
1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract
3 large eggs
3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
2 cups chocolate chunks or 13 ounces block chocolate chopped into big chunks
2 cups mini chocolate chips
(Makes 30 or more cookies, depending on size)

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Lightly grease or put parchment paper on 2 cookie sheets.

In a large bowl, using an electric mixer, cream butter with brown and granulated sugars until light and fluffy.

Add in the vanilla extract and beat until combined well.

Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.

In another bowl, sift together flour, soda and salt and add the dry ingredients to the to butter mixture.

Beat until combined well.

Using a wooden spoon, stir in chocolate chunks and chips and drop tablespoonfuls of batter,onto the cookie sheets leaving 1 1/2 inches of space between each cookie.l

Flatten cookies into thick rounds.

Place into the preheated oven and and bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden.

Remove from the oven and let sit on the pan for a few minutes to cool a little, then transfer each cookie onto the cooling racks.

Bake one pan at a time for nice even baking.
