An easy chocolate frosting recipe that will make enough frosting for one 10 inch cake.
6 Tablespoons butter, room temperature
3/4 cup cocoa powder
2 cups confectioners sugar
1/3 cup whole milk (3.5%) + additional for desired consistency
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Serves: Will frost one 9 x 12 inch cake.
Cream butter in a large bowl.
Using an electric mixer if you have one, add 1 cup of confectioners sugar to the butter and beat.
Add the milk and vanilla and continue to mix.
Add the cocoa powder and remaining sugar and blend together.
Note: If you would like the frosting to be thinner, add more milk about 1 Tablespoon at a time until desired consistency is reached.
