WOW! This tasty onion ring recipe is easy to make and these are just so yummy! You use a beer batter and fry them in a skillet on the stove top.

Ingredients

12 ounces beer, use a pale ale
12 ounces all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon paprika
6 onions, sliced into 1/4 inch rings
2 cups approx oil ( for frying)

Serves 4-8

Directions

To make the beer batter, use a mixing bowl to stir together the flour, sale, pepper baking powder and paprika.

Stir in the beer and whisk together to combine.

Cut the ends off the onions, and peel of the out skin.

Slice the onions into 1/4 inch rings and separate them.

Place the onions into the batter to coat them.

Heat the oil in a heavy bottomed skillet to 360 degrees F. Don't overheat or you will burn the oil.

Carefully place the onion rings into the oil and only do them in a single layer to prevent them from sticking together.

Cook the onion rings for about one minute until browned then use tongs to flip them over to cook the second side. Cook another minute, until crispy brown then use tongs to place them onto a plate lined with paper towels. Repeat until they are all cooked.
