Festive Party Cupcakes Recipe

Take a cupcake and dress it up with a fancy liner and icing to create festive party cupcakes!

Ingredients

Festive Cupcakes
1/2 cup butter (at room temperature) cut into cubes.
1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 egg
3/4 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla

Vanilla Buttercream Frosting
1 cup butter, softened
3 1/2 cups confections sugar
1 teaspoon milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/8 teaspoon salt

Directions

Festive Cupcakes

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees.

Place the butter in a large mixing bowl and sift the dry ingredients over top.

Using an electric mixer, mix it slowly together.

Add in 1/2 cup of milk and the egg and beat until the flour is completely moistened.

Add the remaining milk and vanilla and beat for another minute.

Place the paper liners in your muffin tin and fill the cupcakes to 2/3rds full.

Use fancy paper liners.

Bake for 15-17 minutes, or until the toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.

Put cupcakes on cooling rack and when they are fully cooled you can put the frosting.

Vanilla Buttercream Frosting

In a bowl combine butter, sugar and salt. Beat till blended.

Add the milk and vanilla and beat for an additional 3 to 5 minutes or until smooth and creamy. Be sure to make a good piping consistency by adding either more or less milk or confectioners' sugar.

Color with whatever color food colouring you want, put your icing into a piper and frost the cupcakes. Add cupcake candies of your choice to decorate.
