Glazed Chocolate Pecan Brownies Recipe

Ingredients

Brownies
2 eggs
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 cup sugar
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1-1/2 cups pecans, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
3 tbsp butter
Topping
1 cup pecan pieces
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Glaze
1/2 cup granulated sugar
4 Tbsp unsalted butter
1/4 tsp sea salt
3 Tbsp heavy cream

Directions

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F

Grease and flour a 9 x 9 inch baking dish

Whisk together eggs, vanilla and salt.In a separate bowl, mix together chopped pecan and the flour.

Meanwhile in a saucepan, bring the sugar and maple syrup to a boil. Remove from heat and stir in the chocolate and butter. mix well and add in egg mixture.Then fold in the pecan mixture.

Pour into a baking dish. Bake for 20 minutes. remove from oven and sprinkle chocolate chips oven top while still warm.

To make the glaze: In a saucepan over medium-high heat, melt the sugar. Break up clumps as needed, otherwise leave it alone until completely melted. It will be a dark copper color and will take about 5 minutes. Remove from heat and stir in the butter and salt, then the cream. If clumps form, return to heat and whisk smooth again.

Top Brownies with pecan pieces and glaze.
