These yummy gummy candies are such a treat in our home and you can get so creative with flavors.
To begin, line candy molds with plastic wrap. Spray with cooking spray and set aside.
Pour the cold water into a medium sized sauce pan.
Sprinkle gelatine evenly over the cold water and allow to sit for 5 minutes.
Add the boiling water and stir until gelatine is fully dissolved.
Stir in sugar.
Put the sauce pan over medium-high heat and bring to a boil.
Once boiling, gently simmer for 25 minutes, stirring constantly.
Remove from heat.
Prepare enough mixing bowls to match the amount of flavours or colours you wish to use.
Pour the mixture evenly between the prepared bowls.
Add the flavors and colors as desired, to each bowl.
Pour the mixture into the prepared candy molds.
Cover the molds plastic wrap and chill for 4 hours or up to overnight.
Once chilled, lift plastic out of the molds and peel off candy.
Pour some sugar into a medium bowl.
Turn candy into out into the bowl and gently toss to roll in sugar.
Transfer the candies to parchment paper or foil and allow them to sit at room temperature for one to two days. This will allow the outside of the candies to crystallize.
When done, store the candies in an airtight container for up to 3 weeks.
