Homemade Cherry Sauce Recipe

This homemade cherry sauce recipe is very quick to prepare and the sauce is great with yogurt, icecream, and on cakes or cheesecakes.

Ingredients

Cherry Sauce

3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons cornstarch
1 dash salt
1/3 cup water
4 cups fresh tart red cherries or 4 cups frozen unsweetened tart red cherries, pitted

Garnish

1 cup heavy whipping cream
fresh mint leaves


(Makes 2-3 cups)

Directions

Cherry Sauce

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, combine the sugar, cornstarch and salt.

Add in the water, stirring.

Add in the cherries and continue cooking until thick and bubbly.

Garnish

In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy whipping cream until soft peaks form.

Put a dollop of whipped cream, along with a few fresh mint leaves, atop each serving of cherry sauce.

Serve.
