Homemade Peppermint Patties Recipe

This homemade peppermint patty recipe is made without shortening and using highly quality chocolate for dipping. Serve as an after dinner treat for just about any meal.

Ingredients

1 Tablespoon lemon juice
1 egg white
1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract
3 cup confectioners' sugar
1 cups dark chocolate melting wafers

Makes about 20 patties

Directions

Whip together lemon juice and egg whites until it gets foamy. Mix in peppermint and sugar, once it starts to come together take out of bowl and finish bringing together with your hands (use some confectioner's sugar to prevent sticking). Roll out and cut shapes with a cookies cutter. Place on a a baking tray with parchment paper. Let the stand for 2 to 5 hours.

In a double boiler, or a pot filled with water and a bowl melt chocolate. Stirring until smooth.

Dip peppermint patty into melted chocolate. Let drip off excess and place on parchment paper. Let chocolate set and serve.
