Honey Glazed Ham Recipe

What are you making this weekend for your special dinner? This honey glazed ham is going to steal the show.

Ingredients

(Makes 15 servings)

1 (5lb) ready-to-eat-ham
1/2 - 1 teaspoon whole cloves
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup honey
2/3 cups butter

Tools: A silicone basting brush.

Directions

Preheat the oven to 325F.

Line a baking pan with aluminum foil, taking the foil about 1/2 way up the sides. The foil is to contain the sticky glaze and will make for easier cleanup later.

Take the ham from its packaging and score the top in two directions make the diamond shapes. Stud the ham with the cloves.

Place the ham into the prepared pan and place into the preheated oven.

Meanwhile to make the glaze, use a double boiler and combine the brown sugar with the honey and butter. This is going to be your glazing sauce so you want to just keep it warm so it is easy to spread.

Plan to bake the ham about 1 hour and 15 minutes. As the ham is baking use the warm glaze you have on the stove top and brush some glaze onto the ham every 15 minutes. Use a silicone brush. The bristle once can get hairy in the sticky sauce and possibly loose some of its hairs.

Bake for one hour and 10 minutes, then for the last 5 minutes of baking, turn on the the broiler to caramelize the glaze.

Remove from the oven and let sit for a few minutes before slicing.

*Optional: If you want pineapple rings, you can put them in during the last 15 minutes along the sides of the pan to brown them up.
