Marble Cake With Ganache Recipe

A Fancy looking but simple to make marble cake recipe, served topped with ganache and strawberries.

Ingredients

Cake
2 cups all purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter, at room temperature
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup milk
2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
Ganache
1 cup dark chocolate, chopped
1 cup heavy cream
To serve
2 cups strawberries

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

Grease and flour a deep 9 inch round pan.

Place flour, baking powder, salt, sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, and milk into mixing bowl.

Beat until well combined.

Reserve 3/4 cup batter.

Pour the remaining batter into pan.

Stir cocoa into the 3/4 cup reserved batter.

Drop by spoonfuls over top of white batter.

Use a knife to slowly swirl the cocoa batter into the white batter to make a marble effect.

Bake for 30-35 minutes, until an tester inserted in the center comes out clean.

Allow to cool on a wire rack.

Ganache

Place the chocolate into a medium bowl.

Heat the cream in a small sauce pan over medium heat. Bring just to a boil

When the cream has come to a boil, pour over the chopped chocolate, and whisk until smooth.

Allow the ganache to cool slightly before pouring over a cake.

Top with berries to serve.
