Mexican Chocolate Frosting Recipe
A delicious Mexican chocolate frosting recipe that is meant for the true chocolate lover.
2 sticks unsalted butter, room temperature
2 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
2 ounces semi sweet chocolate, melted
1 teaspoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon salt
Chop the chocolate into smaller pieces.
In a double boiler, or using your favorite melting method, melt the chocolate and set aside.
Cream the butter with the sugar.
Add melted chocolate and mix until well combined.
Add spices and salt.
Frost your cake or store in airtight container in the fridge.
To re-use once it is hard, let is soften and then beat with electric mixer.
