Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease an 8 inch by 4 inch loaf pan.
With a hand or stand up mixer, beat butter, eggs, sugar, and vanilla in a bowl until creamy.
Add the mashed bananas and mix well. Add the sour cream and mix in.
In another bowl, mix together the chopped walnuts, cinnamon, baking soda, salt, and flour until combined.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet and mix together well.
Pour into the loaf pan and bake 45 - 60 minutes until done. You can test by inserting a toothpick in the center of the loaf. If it comes out clean it is done.
