Perfect Oven Baked Ribs Recipe

These slow cooked oven baked ribs are tender, juicy and flavored with a sweet and spicy barbecue sauce.

Ingredients

Oven Baked Ribs
2 to 2 1/2 lbs baby back pork ribs
Salt and black pepper

Sweet and Spicy Barbecue Sauce
1 Tablespoon olive oil
1/4 cup finely diced onion
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 cup ketchup
1 Tablespoon hot chili sauce (Sriracha)
2 Tablespoons light brown sugar
1 Tablespoon apple cider vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon ground pepper to season

Directions

Ribs:

Preheat the oven to 275F.

Line a roasting pan with two layers of aluminum foil going up the sides.

To prepare the ribs, you need to remove the thin membrane. Place the ribs on a cutting board and using a knife, slice it under the membrane to start it then using your fingers pull the membrane off of the bones. If it is slippery hold on with a paper towel.

Season the ribs with salt and pepper.

Place the ribs into the prepared pan and put into the oven.

Cook for 3 1/2 to 4 hours until the meat is falling off the bone.

Remove the ribs from the oven. Remove the aluminum foil.

Place the ribs back into the roaster and using a pastry brush, coat both sides of the ribs with the sauce.(below)

Turn the broiler onto high.

Place the coated ribs under the broil and broil for a few minutes, just until the sauce begins to caramelize.

Serve and enjoy.

Sauce:

Using a saucepan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onions and cook until tender. Add the cumin and stir in.

Add the ketchup and chili sauce and stir in.

Add the brown sugar, vinegar, salt and pepper.
