Spinach Pizza Recipe

This spinach pizza is so tasty. The recipe has a homemade crust and you can use fresh spinach or frozen.

Ingredients

Pizza Crust
1 (1/4 ounce) package active dry yeast
1 1/4 cups warm water
3 cups all-purpose flour
2 Tablespoon vegetable oil
1 teaspoon salt

Pizza Topping
1/2 cup pizza sauce
10 ounces frozenchopped spinach, thawed and squeezed dry,
OR use fresh spinach, cooked, chopped and squeezed dry
1 garlic clove, minced
1/2 onion, chopped
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated
salt and pepper, to taste
1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled
1 cup mozzarella cheese, grated

Directions

Pizza Crust

In a large bowl, pour warm water and sprinkle yeast on top.

Let sit for 10 minutes until mixture is frothy.

Add flour, oil and salt and mix.

Knead dough in bowl for 6-8 minutes until smooth and elastic (add more flour if needed). Form it into a ball.

Cover and set aside for 20 minutes.

Lightly grease a large 16 inch pizza pan.

Roll the dough out into a circle to flatten, then lace the dough on a pizza pan.

Spread dough out the rest of the way with fingers until it stretches over pan, keeping dough thicker near the edges.

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.

If using pizza stone, preheat on bottom rack for 1 hour.

Spread pizza sauce on prepared pizza dough

In a bowl, the spinach, garlic, onion, parmesan and salt and pepper.

Spread the spinach topping evenly onto the pizza.

Sprinkle on the crumbled feta and grated mozzarella cheese.

Bake for 15-20 minutes until done.
