Steak With Mushroom Sauce Recipe

This is a delicious seared steak with mushroom sauce that you can do right in your kitchen.

Ingredients

Serves 2

2 x 6 ounce steaks
1 clove garlic paste (from a garlic press)
1 Tablespoon dried of fresh herbs (sage, rosemary, oregano)
2 Tablespoons olive oil
2 Tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 cups white mushrooms, stems cut off and cut into thin strips.
1 Tablespoon butter
Salt and pepper

Tools: Oven proof saucepan, and a second pan for sauteeing.

Directions

In a plastic bag that seals, combine the steaks, minced garlic, herbs, olive oil and red wine vinegar.

Let marinate for 30 minutes, but not longer.

Preheat the oven to 400 F.

While the oven is preheating, heat a medium-large saucepan to medium-high heat.

Place the steaks and marinade into the pans and sauté each side for 2-3 minutes or until brown.

Transfer the steaks directly into the preheated oven and cook for 5-10 minute depending on how you like your steak.

While you waiting, heat up 1 Tablespoon of butter in a large sauce pan.

When the butter has melted, add the mushroom slices to the pan and let each side brown, being careful not to crowd the pan.

Season with salt and pepper.

Serve the steaks with mushrooms on top. This meal is delicious with a simple salad and your favorite potatoes.
