Strawberry Crisp Recipe

This strawberry crisp recipe is a quick easy dessert idea and makes a tasty dessert, especially when strawberries are in season. Delicious served with ice cream.

Ingredients

1/4 cup quick cooking rolled oats
1/4 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup light brown sugar, packed
1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
2 Tablespoons finely ground almonds
1/4 cup butter, melted
4 cups quartered fresh strawberries
2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
1 teaspoon all purpose flour

Directions

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

Crisp Topping

Stir together the oats, flour, sugar, ginger and ground almonds.

Melt the butter and pour into the oat mixture.

Stir the butter in then use your fingers to work the topping into a crumble texture.

Clean, dry and slice the strawberries in a large bowl. Add the sugar and stir to combine

In another larger bowl, combine quartered strawberries, sugar and teaspoon of flour and mix well, coating the berries.

Transfer the berry mixture into a 9x13 inch baking pan.

Sprinkle the crumb topping over the strawberries.

Bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes or until juices are thick and bubbly and the top is crispy and golden brown.

Delicious served warm with ice cream.
