Strawberry Jello Custard Layered Cake Recipe

Fresh Strawberry jello custard layered cake, this recipe is fun and pretty.

Ingredients

Cake
1 1/4 cups cake flour
1 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
1/2 cup buttermilk
2 Tablespoons vegetable oil
1 teaspoons vanilla extract
3 large egg yolks, room temperature
1/2 cup strawberries, halved
Custard
3 large eggs
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
2-2/3 cups of milk
1 teaspoon pure vanilla
Jello layer
1 large package strawberry jello
2 cups strawberrie, quartered

Directions

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Grease a 9 inch round spring form pan.

Cake

Whisk flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and sugar together in large bowl.

In a medium bowl, whisk together melted butter, buttermilk, oil, vanilla, and eggs.

Add flour mixture to milk mixture, beating into just combined.

Pour batter into pan, top with strawberry halves.

Bake 10 minutes , remove from oven and pour custard layer over top.

For the custard layer, beat your eggs slightly, then add sugar, salt, and milk.

Beat well and poor into cake layer.

Bake for 30 minutes until custard is set.

Remove from oven and cool completely. Chill.

Prepare jello as to package directiones, allow to cool until almost setting.

Pour over cold custard layer and gently add in fresh sliced strawberries.

Refrigerate until set.

Run knife around cake before removing the springform pan.
