Tempura Vegetables Recipe

This tempura batter can be used on vegetables and fish or whatever you wish to coat. It makes a nice crispy batter.

Ingredients

Tempura Batter
3/4 cup beer (light beer, amber or lager)
3/4 cup rice flour
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/4-1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
1 teaspoon garlic powder ( optional or to taste)
vegetable oil ( for deep frying)
seasoning salt

Vegetables and Fish of your choosing

Make batches separate if you have lots of vegetables or fish to do. Do not double the batch as it will not turn out as well.

Directions

Mix the beer and rice flour together in a large bowl until smooth.

Add salt, garlic powder and cayenne and blend in.

Let the better sit for 10 minutes.

Heat oil to 375 degrees F.

Dredge the veggies in the batter completely, letting any extra drip off.

Deep fry on each side for 1-2 minutes.

Transfer cooked veggies to brown paper or paper towel to drain.

Toss the fried and drained veggies with a bit of seasoning salt.
