These might just be the best bacon wrapped scallops you will taste. Made with a little maple syrup and barbecue sauce for good measure.
Place the wooden skewers in a shallow bowl of water and allow them to soak for 20 minutes. This will prevent skewers from burning.
Lightly grease your grill with olive oil and preheat BBQ to about 300°F.
In a small bowl, combine BBQ sauce and Maple syrup.
Wrap one slice of bacon around each scallop and thread onto a wooden skewer. Place 2-4 scallops on each skewer, depending on the size of your skewers.
Carefully baste each skewer with the BBQ/maple syrup sauce and place on the greased grill.
Grill the skewers until the bacon is crisp and the scallop is cooked through, turning every 2 minutes for a total of about 4 minutes on each side.
Baste with more of the BBQ/maple syrup sauce while the skewers are grilling.
When done, carefully remove the skewers from the grill and allow to sit for 3 minutes before serving.
