This birthday cupcake recipe is for those that like a tangy citrus burst in every bite. The recipe has a lemon cupcake, orange icing and tangy sweet and sour candies to garnish.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Line muffin tins with 24 baking cups.
In large bowl, combine flour and baking powder.
In a separate mixing bowl, beat butter, sugar and eggs.
Add flour mixture and milk, beating well.
Stir in lemon zest and juice and then divide evenly among prepared muffin cups.
Bake for about 18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
Leave to cool.
Meanwhile, in medium bowl, mix together confectioners sugar, orange zest and juice and milk.
When cupcakes are cooled, ice with orange icing and decorate with sweet and sour candies.
