This chocolate and white chocolate cake and frosting is without a doubt for that chocolate lover. This is such a delicious cake, everyone will oooohh and aaahhh.
Cake
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and flour three 9 inch round cake pans with butter.
Whisk together cocoa powder and boiling water until smooth, let cool. Set aside
Whisk together in a separate bowl flour, baking soda, salt and baking powder.
Pour batter into prepared cake pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until an inserted toothpick comes out clean. Set to cool, once cool to touch turn cakes out of pans and let cool completely on a wire rack.
White Chocolate Frosting
in a double boiler or a pot filled with water and a bowl, melt white chocolate on low heat. Stir until smooth. Set aside.
Beat together butter, vanilla and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in milk until incorporated. Beat in white chocolate until incorporated, then continuing beating for another 5 minutes.
Chocolate Glaze
In a small pot on low heat melt together dark chocolate, butter, milk and corn syrup. Stir until smooth. Let cool.
Assembly
Frost between each layer of cake on the sides and on top. Refrigerate. Once chilled pour cooled chocolate glaze on top, making sure to get a nice even layer on top. Serve.
