This is an easy recipe for chocolate cake and frosting.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and flour bottoms a 9 inch spring form pan.
In a mixing bowl, stir the flour, cocoa, baking soda and baking powder together, set aside.
In large bowl with mixer at high speed beat eggs, sugar and vanilla until light and fluffy.
At low speed beat in sour cream.
Add flour mixture in 4 additions alternately with water, beginning and ending with flour.
Pour into pan.
Bake 35 minutes or until cake tester inserted in center comes out clean.
Cool in pan 10 minutes.
Remove and cool on rack.
In small bowl on medium speed beat butter until creamy.
Add cocoa and confectioners' sugar alternately with the milk. Add the milk a tablespoon at a time, beating until of spreading consistency.Add 1 teaspoon vanilla.
You may use more or less milk to get to the desired consistancy.
Frost cooled cake and press chocolate shavings into sides of cake.
