This chocolate caramel brownies recipe makes such yummy brownies!
Preheat your oven to 350ºF
Grease and flour a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large glass or metal bowl set over a pot of simmering water, melt butter and chocolate squares. Whisk constantly until chocolate has melted and mixture is smooth.
Remove from heat.
Add sugar and mix until combined.
Add the eggs, one at a time, mixing between each addition. Stir until well-blended.
Gently mix in the flour until just moistened. Be careful not to over mix.
Spread the badder into the prepared baking pan.
Evenly sprinkle the chocolate chips over the pan of uncooked badder.
Transfer the pan to the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a tester inserted into the cake comes out clean. Be careful not to over bake.
While the brownies are baking, again set a large glass or metal bowl over a pot of simmering water.
Place the unwrapped caramels and milk in the bowl and heat until the caramels have melted completely and mixture is smooth.
After the brownies are done, remove from the oven and allow them to sit for 10 minutes.
Spread the caramel sauce over brownies.
Sprinkle the chopped nuts over the warm caramel. Allow the brownie to cool completely.
To make the chocolate shavings, use a vegetable peeler to cut thin shavings off the chocolate square.
Once the brownie is cooled, sprinkle over the chocolate shavings.
Cut the brownie into squares.
