Creamy Cocoa Frosting Recipe

The perfect frosting recipe that can be piped and made into fancy decorations, or slathered on top of your next brownie.


1.5 cups (200 grams) icing sugar
5 tablespoons (75 grams) unsalted butter, at room temperature
4 tablespoons (30 grams) cocoa powder
1/2 cup cream cheese


For the frosting, beat together the icing sugar, butter and cocoa powder in a medium slow speed until the mixture comes together and is well mixed.

Add the cream cheese in one go and beat until it is completely incorporated. Turn the mixer up to medium high speed.

Continue beating until the frosting is light and fluffy, at least 5 minutes, but do not overbeat as it can become runny.
