A Beautiful fresh strawberry and chocolate cake recipe, Topped with a creamy glaze and chocolate shavings.
Cake
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Grease and flour two nine inch round pans.
In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
Add the eggs, milk, butter and vanilla, mix for 2 minutes on medium speed using an electric mixer.
Stir in the hot water just until combined.
Pour evenly into the prepared pans.
Bake 35 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the cake tests done with a toothpick.
Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.
Glaze
In small bowl over hot water, melt together chocolate chips and coffee. Remove from heat and Stir butter.
To Serve, Place one cake layer on a serving plate, arrange sliced strawberries around cake and sprinkle with sugar. cover with second cake layer and pour warm chocolate glaze over top.
Finish by arranging strawberries on top and a sprinkle of chocolate shavings.
