This ground beef pie recipe has a cornbread crust. It is very simple to make and tastes delicious.
Ground Beef Pie
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
First we will prepare the meat filling.
In a skillet on medium heat cook the meat until it is no longer pink. Drain off the fat.
Add in the celery, onion,and green pepper, salt and pepper.
Stir in the beef broth and corn.
Transfer the filling to an ungreased 9 inch oven proof baking dish.
Cornbread Crust
In a bowl, stir together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
In another bowl, stir together the milk, egg and grapeseed oil until well combined.
Stir the wet ingredients into dry ingredients until combined.
Spoon the batter evenly on the meat filling.
Bake about 20 to 25 minutes or until the top is golden brown.
