A Very yummy recipe for hearty turkey Chili. Serve with sour cream and a bun.
In a large pot, or Dutch oven, heat the oil over medium heat.
Add the onions and sauté until tender.
Add the garlic, cook one minute.
Add the green peppers and cook 2 minutes.
Add the ground turkey and cook until lightly browned and cooked through.
Add tomatoes, chili sauce, chili powder, lemon pepper, basil, thyme and hot pepper sauce.
Bring to a boil over high heat, stirring to combine.Once it boils, turn down to low and cover.
Let simmer for 30 minutes.
Add kidney beans; simmer an additional 30 minutes.
Optional but delicious served with shredded cheddar cheese and sour cream.
