This mini donut holes recipe makes tiny bit sized donuts. Kids really love them and the are fun to prepare.
Get out a skillet that's at least 2 1/2" deep; a 10" electric frying pan is a great choice, if you have one. Fill it with about 1" of vegetable oil, peanut oil preferred for best flavor.
Use a high-walled skillet or large saucepan and fill it with 1" of oil. Heat oil to 350 degrees F.
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk together lukewarm milk, melted butter, egg, and vanilla.
Stir the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients.
Use a melon scoop to scoop out balls of dough and drop into the hot oil.
Fry for 1-2 minutes on first side, or until golden brown. Turn and fry for an additional 1-2 minutes on other side. Transfer to plate lined with paper towel or brown paper to drain and cool.
