Orange Creme Brule Recipe

A Flavorful orange creme brule recipe. This is a very tasty treat.


6 egg yolks
2 cups heavy cream cream
4 Tablespoons granulated sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 Tablespoon vanilla extract
2 Tablespoon Grand Marnier
Zest of 2 oranges, finely grated
one orange, cut into 6 slices
1/2 cup granulated white sugar


Preheat oven to 300 degrees F.

Have ready 6 ramekins.

Whisk together sugar and egg yolks.

Add cream, salt, vanilla and Grand Marnier. Stir well.

Strain mixture through a seive.

Add orange zest.

Fill up each ramekin with the egg and cream mixture.

Place ramekins in a caserole with 1 inch of water in it.

Bake 40-50 minutes or until the custard is set around the edges and still wiggly in the center.

Remove from water bath, let cool, cover ramekins with aluminum foil and refrigerate for at least a 5-6 hours

Sprinkle with sugar and caramelize under a broiler or with a kitchen torch.

Top each creme brule with a fresh orange slice.

Yields 6 servings.
