Pastry Wrapped Hotdogs Recipe

A Yummy pastry wrapped hot dogs recipe, This is a great afternoon snack.


1 cup warm milk
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast
2 Tablespoons granulated sugar
2 1/2 cups all purpose flour
2 Tablespoons butter, melted
1 teaspoon salt
8 hotdogs
butter for brushing on top


Pour the warm milk into a large bowl and sprinkle with the yeast. Let it sit for about 2 minutes.

Mix in the sugar and 1 cup of flour.

Stir butter into the mixture.

Add the remaining flour and salt. Mix to form a slightly sticky dough.

Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5 minutes, until the dough is smooth but still slightly sticky.

Shape the dough into a ball, place in a lightly greased bowl, cover and place it in a warm place to rise until the dough doubles about 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.

Punch the dough down and turn out onto a lightly floured surface.

Divide the dough into 8 pieces. Roll and stretch each piece into a 12-18 inch rope.

Wrap each bread rope around a hot dog.

Place hot dog wraps on a baking sheet and brush tops with butter

Bake 8-10 minutes, until tops are golden brown.
