Powdered Donuts Recipe

This powdered donut recipe is for a baked donut covered in confectioners' sugar.


2 cups cake flour
3/4 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup buttermilk
2 eggs, lightly beaten
2 Tablespoons butter, melted
confectioners' sugar (amount depends on how thick you coat the donuts)

(Makes 12 donuts)


Preheat oven to 425 degrees F.

Coat a donut pan with non-stick cooking spray.

In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, baking powder, nutmeg and salt. Whisk in the buttermilk, eggs and butter until combined.

Fill each donut cup about 2/3 the way full.

Bake for about 8 minutes or until the donuts are springy. Cool in the pan for about 5 minutes before removing.

Once cooled, place the confectioners' sugar in a resealable plastic bag along with the donuts and shake to coat.
