This salmon burgers recipe uses either canned salmon or if you have some leftover salmon you can use it up making these tasty salmon patties for fish burgers.
If you are using canned salmon, open cans, drain out the liquid and put the fish into a bowl. Use a fork to break it up to small crumbs.
If you are using pre-cooked leftover salmon, break it up with a fork into small crumbs and be sure there are no bones in it.
Zest and juice the lemon and stir into the fish.
Add the breadcrumbs, onion, garlic, salt and pepper.
Form the fish into patties either by hand or if you have a pattie form you can use that.
Refrigerate for one hour before grilling.
Cook on hot grill until heated through.
Serve on a burger bun with lettuce, tomato and tartar sauce.
