Simple Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

These simple cinnamon rolls makes a great snack or breakfast side dish.


2 cups all purpose flour
1 cup plus 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
8 Tablespoons butter, softened
3/4 cup milk
4 teaspoons ground cinnamon
1 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 cup confectioners' sugar
1/4 cup milk
2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 c sesame seeds

(Makes 18)


Preheat oven to 375F.

In a small bowl, combine 4 Tablespoons of butter, 2 Tablespoons brown sugar and all of the cinnamon to form a crumbly mixture.

In a large bowl, sift together flour, 1 cup brown sugar and baking powder.

Add 4 Tablespoons softened butter.

Stir in milk and mix to form a soft dough.

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface about 1/4" thick.

Spread filling on the rolled-out dough and roll up into log.

With a sharp knife, slice into 18 small rolls.

Bake in oven proof pan for approximately 25 minutes.

Meanwhile, in separate small bowl, mix together confectioner's sugar, milk and vanilla.

When the rolls are finished baking, drizzle with glaze and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
