Cheese Hot Dog
This delicious baked hot dogs with cheese recipe will be family favorite.
Ingredients
- 8 hot dog wieners, all beef
- 8 slices sharp cheese, preferably emmental or swiss
- lettuce leaves to garnish
- sliced tomato
- ketchup or other condiments
- Serves 4
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
- Slice hot dogs length-wise 3/4 of the way through each wiener.
- Place wieners face down on lightly greased baking sheet, pushing down until flat.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then take tray from the oven and turn wieners over.
- Turn oven up to 425 degrees F. Place 2 slices of cheese side by side length-wise along each set of two dogs on tray, moving wieners closer together as required.
- Bake for additional 5 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve on top of lettuce and sliced tomato, with ketchup or other condiments and garnish of your choice.
