Deep Fried Bananas
This deep fried bananas recipe is sort of like an apple fritter, except the bananas are inside the batter. It is a very delicious treat.

Ingredients
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
- 1 egg, large, lightly beaten
- 1 Tablespoon grape seed oil
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 9 bananas, firm and ripe, sliced into halves
- vegetable oil for deep frying
Directions
- To make the batter, stir the flour, sugar salt and nutmeg together in a small bowl.
- In a larger mixing bowl, stir the egg, oil milk and vanilla together.
- Use an electric mixter to beat the flour mixture into the wet mixture. Beat until well combined and no lumps.
- Using a dutch oven or heavy bottom deep side pan, pour in 2 inches of oil and heat the oil to 375 degrees. Do not go any hotter as the oil will start to smoke and burn.
- Peel the bananas and cut into halves.
- Dip the bananas into the batter and then transfer them, using tongs into the hot oil.
- Fry for 3-4 minutes, turning or until the batter is crispy and gold brown.
- Do in batches of 4 so you can turn them over and keep them from burning.
- Use the tongs to transfer the cooked fried bananas onto a plate lined with paper towels.
